Me, Myself and I

Well I'm a sports fan, aren't we all? i cant get enough of the stuff, the most intoxicating drug there is, is the feeling of winning, meeting that person in work/school the next day to give them a 'waaaaay' is why we all love it, this is just a simple blog about my views on all sports that i love and watch.

I'm 17 and from Northwich Cheshire, with no renowned sports team I've grown up following the sports of family and friends and to that end supporting those clubs.

Mock Draft 2011

So here we are again, all geared up for the circus that is the NFL draft, and the 2011 draft could be more explosive than any of its predecessors. For the first time in NFL history the draft takes place before free agency which means the likelihood of people going all out with the trades to grab them selves that 'franchise' player is made more and more likely. Well less of the Talking and onto my mock draft. Ive put allot of effort into studying the interviews and performences of players/coach/GM's over the past two months and think by now im not too far away at all.

And with the first pick in the 2011 Draft the Caroline Panthers select ......

Carolina Panthers  Cam Newton - This pick has been a cert for months, they like him he likes them, matched made in heaven? possibly.

Denver Broncos Marcell Dareus - Another pick thats been in the offing for weeks, both John Fox and Elway have said that they have struggled to find that 'Franchise' guy, well im telling you if Newton goes one do not hesitate and pull the trigger on Dareus with the first second of the Broncoes being on the clock.

Buffalo Bills Von Miller - Probably the last expected selection, in a perfect CBA NFL i think the Bills would trade down to get themselves a 2nd round and late 1st round pick, but with teams not knowing what they're going to have to pay these top selections i think Ralph Wilson will be stuck with 3rd overall. I'm a firm believer in  taking the best player on the board when you're put on the clock by the commissioner for me Von Miller is a cert to be heading to the only side that plays its football in the state of New York.

Cincinnati Bengals A.J Green - It is pretty obvious to all that the Bengals now need a playmaker, The loss of the drama that is TO may be a miss for Cinci, and couple that with Chad Ochocino's embarresing switch to soccer. In my opinion AJ is the best player in this years draft and far and away the most exciting, it will be tempting to take Gabbert but at 4th overall the Bengals select Georgia's A.J. Green.

Arizona Cardinals  Patrick Peterson - Another side who wil be very tempted to select Gabbart, but the Cardinals already have two young QB's on their roster and i think suring up there defence will be their priority before looks at a Palmer/Kolb in free agency.

Cleveland Browns  Robert Quin - I've been up and down on the Browns 1st pick for weeks now, i still think they may trade down but if not i feel Quin has sufficiently over come his terrible illness to prove what a talented footballer he is.

San Francisco 49ers Blaine Gabbert - This is where the draft starts to hotten up, this pick could shape the 49ers franchise for a decade, for me they are picking between two players, Blaine Gabbert and Prince Amukamara, the prince is a sensational  talent but with major doubts over Alex Smith i think they have to go for Gabbert.

Tennessee Titans Nick Fairley - The most perfectt pick in the draft, a destructive D-lineman joining up with his former D-line coach.

Dallas Cowboys Tyron Smith - America's team don't usually plump for offensive lineman in the first round, but this is a serious need and Smith is far and away the best O-Lineman left on the board.

Washington Redskins Julio Jones - With Newton gone their only other foreseeable draft choice, the Redskins will either have to look to free-agency or the second round to replace McNabb, there other need is a serious play maker. With A.J gone it is a must that the Redskins bag Jones.

Houston Texans J.J. Watt - Its a straight choice for this franchise, there defence is as embarrassing as their offence is stunning, so the Defensive end position is more than a need, the choice comes down to Watt or Aldon Smith. for me Watt is the cleaner choice, so pack your bags JJ you're off to Texas.

Minnesota Vikings Ryan Mallet - Many sides are desperate for that 'franchise' QB.  The Viking's cannot risk missing out on Locker or Mallet at the top of the 2nd so despite their DE needs the Vikings select the heir to Favres throne as Arkansas' Mallet.

Detroit Lions Prince Amukamara - There will be dancing in the Detroit war room when they re put on the clock. If San Francisco opt for Gabbart, then the Prince falls to an improving Detroit side.

St. Louis Rams Corey Liuget -  The Rams are desperate for some weapons for Bradford to throw too, but there are only two real talents at the WR position in this draft and with them gone they need to work on a way to stop the other side from scoring, so at DT the rams pick up the Illinois man.

Miami DolphinsMike Pouncy - The Dolphins are another side who would be looking at the QB position, but with Mallet gone they gamble on a Dalton in the 2nd and select Pouncy to firm up their O-Line.

Jacksonville Jaguars Aldon Smith - The Jags miss out on most of their top targets but bag themselves a solid player in smith

New England Patriots *Trade* Seattle Seahawks Jake Locker - The Pats god that is Belichick (yes i'm a fan) does his thing early securing more picks further down the draft. the seahawks begin to sweat over the QB position with Mallet going unexpectedly high and so go for Locker.

San Diego Chargers Phil Taylor - The Chargers are set in their offensive scheme, but the defence needs work so they go for Taylor at 18th overall.

New York Giants Gabe Carimi - The giants are licking their lips when they are put on the clock, there major need is in the offensive line and with the Pats trading down they can pick between, Castonzo, Solder and Carimi. With an ageing line and Carimi being seen as the top tackle in the draft at 19 they select the Wisconsin man.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers De'Quan Bowers - No one is as shocked as me as to how much Bowers has fallen since the combine at one time he was 2nd on my draft board. The Bucs have a solid enough side that they can take the gamble on the fitness as he may well lead them to a World Championship with 4 years.

Kansas City Chiefs Anthony Castonzo - I'm not overly sold on Castonzo, but being the top side at rushing in the country i think they will look to pursue that style of football and draft Castonzo.

Indianapolis ColtsNate Solder - Peyton suffered from an ageing offensive line last year and he is the man who calls the shots in Indy, what he wants he gets and he wants some pass protection so at 22 the Colts go for Solder.

Philadelphia Eagles Jimmy Smith - The Eagles will be big players this summer, with them unexpectedly getting a replenished Michael Vick, they know teams will have one eye on Kolb. however their main aim in this draft will be their secondary and I'm adamant they'll go for Smith as a serious play maker.

New Orleans Saints Marvin Austin - Another side with defensive frailties and the Saints have made it clear they are going D-line, Austin is the best D-lineman left on the board.

Seattle Seahawks *Trade* New England Patriots Mark Ingram - The pats now pick at 25 and 28 and can address both sides of the football, Ingram is a solid footballer and will definitely add to the New England programme, one of my favourite players this year.

Baltimore Ravens Cam Heyward - The Ravens cannot believe their luck that the Pats passed on Heyward at 25 and it takes GM Ozzie Newsome just a few seconds to call the Heyward camp.

Atlanta FalconsKyle Rudolph - Seen as the only player in or near the NFL with similar qualities mainly with receptions to that off the legend that is Tony Gonzalez, and who better to learn from than the man himself, a seem less changing of the guard within two years, the Falcons select Rudolph at 26.

New England Patriots Cameron Jordan - After seeing Hayward go to Baltimore the Pats must look further afield a top 15 talent in Jordan with a great combination of Athleticism of strength make Jordan a great fit in New England.

Chicago Bears Derrek Sherrod - Jay Cutlers wakes up on the 28th and begs his GM for some help, he was beat up bad last year and if they want to improve they need to protect their star man, that makes the athletic Sherrod a perfect fit.

New York Jets Muhhamed Wilkerson - Rex Ryan never stops looking to meaty up his impressive defence and this year is no different the super strong Wilkerson drops to the Jets at 30.

Pittsburgh Steelers Aaron Williams - Steelers football is everything to the city of Pittsburgh yes they could go O-Line but their secondary needs more depth, not an immediate starter but has great talent.

Green Bay Packers Bruce Carter - A number of players could fit in at the SuperBowl champions but id opt for Carter everyday of the week, super physical .

The Biggest Regret

De'Quan Bowers -

Could end up being the best pass rusher in the league in 5 years time, an absolute steel at 20th overall but will his health hold up?

Bust or Boom?

Cam Newton -

Has to be the Auburn man, big gamble at one overall but a decision that could wreak the rewards for a distinctively poor Carolina side. could be the first scrambling QB to collect a ring or could be one of the worst picks at 1 overall only time will tell, but i would like to think that he will do a great job for that organisation.
